Committee Corner will be highlighting our efforts and thoughts as we move closer to the symposium date which is right around the corner! We will be posting every week from now until the Symposium date which is February 21.



This week we put our Development team in the Committee Corner, let’s see what they had to say!
This week we want to introduce you to our Development team, Zipora Premathas, Kerraine Jannene Dennis, and Lydia Lee. We asked them a few questions in order to get to know them better and understand what they think of this year’s symposium, which is fast approaching. Our Development team has been working hard to raise funds and gather donations for our fourth annual Arts Ahead symposium on February 21, 2019. Stay tuned for more information on our very exciting silent auction goodies, all thanks to the development teams hard work!

What art do you want to discover more about ?
What have you learned so far from being on the Development team for Arts Ahead 2019?
I have learned that having a good knowledge of the community where you work, study or live is vital to establishing relationships with your supporters.
As the development team, your main goal is to raise money! What are the efforts the team has put forward to raise enough funds for the upcoming symposium?
The development team could not have achieved all that we have without the amazing efforts from the rest of the class! Everyone pooled together their resources to collect donated clothes and made delicious baked goods towards our two successful clothing drives.

What have you learnt so far from being on the development team of arts ahead 2019?
I have learnt so much since i have been a part of the team.I have sharpened my networking and fundraising skills.I have also enjoyed the thrill of setting a target and realising that target.All the members of the development team are all different but we all worked together as one and completed the task.I also appreciated how Zipora ( you seems to be a natural leader ) steered us in the right direction and helped hold the group together.She held each of us accountable.I learnt that its all about setting goals and deliverables!
As the development team,your main goal is to raise money!What are the efforts the team has put forward to raise enough funds for the upcoming symposium?
Our greatest achievements are the two clothes sales and the bake sale. We made our target with these two fundraising events. We also were able to solicit enough items for our silent auction. With a bit more time we could have done much more, but with the time we had we did an excellent job!

I finished my bachelor and performed as an opera singer. I wanted to explore and develop my skills in

I would like to discover the meaning of the visual arts and the way to understand the art because it has inspired me in many ways.
What have you learned so far from being on the Development team for Arts Ahead 2019?
I’ve learned how to reach out to other organizations for donations and focusing on raising money through the fundraising events for our symposium. And how important having a great team is!
As the development team, your main goal is to raise money! What are the efforts the team has put forward to raise enough funds for the upcoming symposium?
I have worked hard for our fundraising events and figured out how to manage a specific plan to communicate with other organizations to introduce them to the symposium. My team has helped me along the way and the teamwork is really great!
